Fishing

Fishing is a major attraction to the area. Mallacoota is highly regarded as one of Victoria's premier fishing destinations. Home of the big bream both black and yellow fin as well as monster dusky flathead and many other species including the elusive mulloway.

You can even organize a local fishing guide to pick you up from your Houseboat. For beginners and families Simon from Porkie-bess charters can take you out and teach you all you need to know to catch a feed.

Please let us know when you book if you are going to tow your own fishing boat so we can provide you with extra fenders.

Note: A Victorian Fishing Licence is required and can be obtained from several outlets in Mallacoota.

Families

Mallacoota Houseboats provide the perfect opportunity to get back to nature and spend some quality time with the kids. There are many areas around the shores of the Inlet where the kids can run round, swim and play safely.

Bushwalking

There are many different walks around Mallacoota and the shores of the inlet so you can explore the National Park or you may just wish to take a leisurely stroll to stretch your legs. Refer to your map for walking options.

Bird Watching

Due to the rich diversity of habitats Mallacoota is a bird lover's paradise with over 300 different species being recorded here. That is almost one third of Australia's known species.
